Kaalakaandi is a 2018 Indian dark comedy film written and directed by Akshat Verma, starring Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Oberoi, Sobhita Dhulipala and Deepak Dobariyal.
WHAT’S KALAKAANDI ABOUT:
Saif Ali Khan is beyond any doubt the most important character in this film, wherever 3 stories run parallel. His character is a simple, who never drinks, never smoke. On the day of his brother’s wedding, he learns that he has abdomen cancer, giving him only a couple of months to live. Knowing that he has nothing to lose, he drops a photograph (acid, LSD or drugs to the layman) and is tripping for the rest of the film. His brother, played by Akshay Oberoi, kind of cheats on his fiancé, when an old girlfriend calls him over to her hotel room.
In the next story, we tend to see tara (Sobhita Dhulipala) packing her luggage to pursue higher studies in US, whereas her boyfriend Zubin (Kunaal Roy Kapur) is attempting to convince her to change her plans however she remains adamant. Hours before flight, each of them attend a party, however presently a police raid the place. town is nervous as her flight leaves in 2 hours. She manages to flee together with her friends along side Zubin during an automobile. In the car, Zubin and town have a heated argument over town arousal a bloke, town loses management and hits a bike killing 2 guys. town feels guilty, however leaves once Zubin and her friends advise her not to go to the cops.
Next story is of 2 goons who needs to make it huge, Mafia (Deepak Dobriyal) and Rahmat (Vijay Raaz). They plot a concept to extract cash from their own boss Raza (Asif Basra) and cook up a story. meantime throughout a celebration, Ustad (Neil Bhoopalam) a guy who has helped Raza tons gets killed on the road by 2 bike borne assailants. Mafia and Rahmat witness the crime.
